Wij zijn een tijdelijk collectief, bestaande uit vier afstuderende kunstenaars van de Willem de Kooning Academie, Rotterdam.
Met zijn vieren zitten wij in een pand, het liefst voor twee tot drie maanden, om dit te vormen tot een coherent werk. Daarnaast dient het pand niet alleen als expositieruimte, maar zal er een samengesteld programma lopen waarin wij de interactie aangaan met onze bezoekers. Denk hierbij aan film- soep avonden, performances en workshops. Samenkomst staat hierin centraal. Het project dient als inspiratiebron en broedplek voor de Rotterdamse creatieve sector.
Met dit project passen wij ons aan, aan de huidige politieke situatie omtrent het landelijke kunstbeleid. Daarnaast zien wij veel mogelijkheden in de leegstand. Dus zetten wij een 'tijdelijk' kunstplatform op als vruchtbare grond voor alternatieve kunstpraktijken.

Wij hopen dus ook dat mensen voortborduren op dit concept en het op lange termijn inzetbaar blijft.

Nomad

We are a temporary collective, created by four graduating art students from Willem de Kooning Academy, Rotterdam.
With the four of us we want to be based in a 'house', preferably two to three months, to transform this place into one coherent artwork. This space is not just an exhibition space but we will offer a program embodying a variety of activities including film- soup evenings, performance art and workshops in which we want to stimulate interaction with our public. Bringing together people is very crucial to this project.
We want to be a source of inspiration for the creative sector of Rotterdam. In this project we adjust to the contemporary political situation concerning Art in the Netherlands. We see many possibilities in vacant buildings. Therefore we build this 'temporary' art platform as a fertile soil for alternative art practices.

We hope that others will elaborate on this concept and that it will continue to be applicable in the future.

Project

Nomade is een collectief opgericht door vier goede vrienden met soortgelijke levensvisies. Scheiding tussen kunst en leven is nog nauwelijks te herkennen. We creëren ruimte voor onszelf, als platform en collectief, om op alternatieve wijze presentatiemomenten te houden en veel te kunnen experimenteren.
Gebruikmakend van leegstand beleeft en ervaart Nomade verschillende ruimtes die we, door middel van ons collectieve werk, eigen hopen te maken.

KROTT
Na een reis met onze huifkar zijn wij momenteel te vinden aan de Zaagmolenstraat 4, Rotterdam. Hier hebben wij samen met de mannen van Atelier Hoofdkwartier 'KROTT', Kunstpodium Rotterdam, gesticht.

'Nomade' is an art-collective, founded by four good friends, with a shared lifeview. The separation between art and life is hardly to be recognized. As a collective and platform, we are creating and thus, adding, alternative spaces to the otherwise institutionalised (art-) world. This enables us to share and experiment with our collective way of working and ways of presentation.
Using vacancy and time in between static housing we find ways of manifesting in the form of travel or dynamic action if you will.

KROTT
After a hike with our -quite huge- tilt car, we've landed at the Zaagmolenstraat 4, Rotterdam. Together with the Rotterdam based guys from Atelier Hoofdkwartier, we managed to establish 'KROTT', Artplatform Rotterdam.

NOMADE = DAKLOOS
Sinds ons vertrek van de Zaagmolenstraat is Nomade te vinden in de openbare ruimte. Ditmaal hebben wij geen fysiek pand in gebruik, maar de gehele stad of ons pad als ruimte.
